π¦ Product stock β
Product stock is not checked on catalog or product pages. It is checked live via SABA only in the shopping cart and during checkout.
When stock is checked β
- Shopping cart: Checked on load and when the store or quantities change. Insufficient stock shows an error banner and disables checkout.
- Checkout & order placement: Re-checked when entering checkout (redirects back to the cart if out of stock) and one final time when placing the order.
Business rules β
Stock is fetched from SABA using the product's EAN and the store's stock debtor number. A product defaults to unlimited stock unless all of the following apply:
- Store has stock check enabled (dark stores inherit the setting and debtor number of their parent store).
- Product has an EAN and SABA responds without errors.
- SABA returns a restock date alongside the stock quantity.
When a cart line exceeds the available stock, its quantity selector is capped at the available stock (0 shows "niet op voorraad", > 0 shows "nog {n} op voorraad"), and the customer must lower the quantity or remove the item before continuing.
